Prof. (Dr.) Manendra Kumar stands as a symbol of excellence, intellect, and lifelong dedication in the world of zoological sciences and higher education. Born on January 15, 1957, in Sitamarhi district, Bihar, his journey from humble beginnings to becoming one of India's most decorated academicians is truly inspirational.
With over 43 years of teaching and research experience, Dr. Kumar has transformed the academic landscape of zoology in India through his pioneering research, prolific writing, and unwavering commitment to environmental awareness. His illustrious career spans from Lecturer at M.S.K.B. College (1978) to serving as Dean of Faculty of Science, Director of UGC-HRDC, and Principal, and now as Coordinator of Zoology at Nalanda Open University.
His Ph.D. thesis on "Bionomics and Control of Litchi Fruit Borers" became a milestone study in developing eco-friendly pest control techniques, and he has published over 100 research papers and authored 12 books, making him a global voice for sustainable development and scientific excellence.
